Quebec City, Quebec, Canada (Top Heavyweights) — Heavyweight Simon Kean will face the biggest test of his career against fellow Canadian Dillon Carman on October 6th at the Centre Videotron in Quebec City. A victory for Kean will move him closer the the top of a world-class Canadian heavyweight scene that includes Olekandr Teslenko, Mladen Mijas, Franz Rill and Montreal-based Oscar Rivas to name only a few.
This will be Kean's first outing since he knocked out Adam Braidwood in the third round last June in Shawinigan. The Quebec heavyweight is on the verge of entering the top of the division and facing the world's best.
Dillon "Big Country" Carman is the former Canadian heavyweight Champion and is also looking to climb the top of boxing's premiere division. He fought a war with Eric Martel-Bahoeli for his title back in 2014 and is now only a win away from re-entering international contention. Big Country isn't an "opponent" and will be the biggest test the Quebec star has thus far faced.
Kean doesn't expect a quick KO, but does expect to get some solid rounds in the bank. Carman knows Kean is the favourite, but considers himself and The Grizzly to be a level above Braidwood.
Simon Kean has looked unstoppable in recent fights, but now the opposition is more formidable and the expectations much higher. Carman has only lost once in the last 5 years and has the tools to pull off the upset in Quebec.
Like the rest of the division, Canada's top heavyweights are raising the stakes and getting ready to move onto the world scene.
