Australian heavyweight Justis Huni is set to make his much-anticipated North American debut under the Matchroom banner against Andrew Tabiti in Cancun, Mexico, on October 28. This fight will be broadcast live worldwide on DAZN and is presented in association with Pepe Gomez and Cancun Boxing.

Huni, boasting a record of 7 wins with 4 knockouts, was initially scheduled to face Tabiti in New Orleans in June. However, a sparring injury left the Australian amateur star with an ankle injury, forcing the postponement of the bout. Now, Huni is eager to step back into the ring and embark on his new journey with Matchroom, following his two-year deal with promoter Eddie Hearn in February.

This fight marks a significant moment for Huni as he will be competing in the United States for the first time in his professional career. He transitioned to the heavyweight division after a successful debut against James Wilson in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, in August 2022.

Huni's impressive amateur career includes a bronze medal at the 2019 World Championships, where he fell to Kamshybek Kunkabayev in the semi-finals. He turned professional in 2020 with a dominant victory over Australian champion Faiga Opelu and continued to build his reputation with decision wins over Joseph Goodall and Kiki Toa Leutele.

With his pedigree and victories against solid competition, Huni is poised for a promising career in the heavyweight division, now with the added support of Matchroom Boxing.
