When asked about the fight, Tony Yoka full understands that he'll have to be his absolute best against Johann Duhaupas. “I'm up against an opponent who has faced the top heavyweights in the world. It's a fight that should allow me to move up in the heavyweight rankings and challenge the very best. I can't wait for Friday. On paper, it’s the biggest fight of my career.” Yoka explained. “I'm going to box another French boxer, not to silence the critics but to advance our sport. If I were to face an American ranked in the Top 20, nobody in France will have heard of them, nobody talks about them because we don't know them. When I box another French boxer, it has an impact. There is a certain excitement around this French Showdown and that's good for boxing."
