WORLD Heavyweight Boxing
Pattaya, Thailand - Tyson Fury will continue his comeback run with a July 24 bout against Mariusz Wach in Pattaya, Thailand — a fight that is being promoted with charitable elements, but one that is difficult to sell as a competitive sporting contest.

Fury, 37, enters at 35-2-1 (24 KOs). Wach, 46, comes in at 39-13 (20 KOs), and while the Polish veteran is a familiar name to long-time heavyweight followers, this is not the dangerous version of Wach who once went 12 rounds with Wladimir Klitschko.
This is a tune-up. And not a subtle one.
Wach has lost three of his last four fights and seven of his last ten. He was stopped in two rounds by Moses Itauma in 2024, lost a decision to Kacper Meyna in 2025, and was most recently beaten over ten rounds by Viktor Faust in March.
The selling point is size, not threat. Wach is tall, experienced, durable by reputation, and recognizable enough to put on a poster. But at this stage, he is no longer operating near world level. Against Fury, who remains one of the most skilled big men of the modern era, Wach’s chances appear extremely limited.
Stylistically, this looks brutal on paper. Wach is slow, upright, and predictable. Fury should be able to jab, feint, move, hold when needed, and dictate every second of the fight. Wach’s best hope is to survive rounds and make Fury work. Winning the fight would require a collapse from Fury rather than a breakthrough from Wach.
There is also a charitable angle attached to the event. Early reports indicate ticket profits or proceeds will be donated to local Thai charities, while Fury is also expected to receive a WBC humanitarian-style honour connected to the occasion. However, as of now, reports do not clearly establish that Fury is donating his personal fight purse.
That distinction matters.
This may be a charitable event. It may be a useful stay-busy appearance. It may even be part of a larger media build toward a future Anthony Joshua showdown. But as a heavyweight contest, Fury-Wach is a mismatch.
Fury should win clearly, comfortably, and without drama. Anything less would raise more questions than answers.
