Toledo’s Heavyweight Prospect

Jared Anderson 18–1 (15 KOs) won consecutive United States elite amateur championships before turning professional in 2019. The Toledo boxer attracted attention with fast combinations, the ability to switch stance and a run of early stoppages.

Wins over Oleksandr Teslenko and Jerry Forrest led to a homecoming fight with former IBF champion Charles Martin in July 2023. Martin became the first opponent to take Anderson the distance. Anderson scored a knockdown and won, but also had to work through difficult moments.

He followed with victories over Andrii Rudenko and Ryad Merhy.

The Bakole Test and the Return

Martin Bakole proved a much harder assignment in Los Angeles in August 2024. His pressure put Anderson down three times before a fifth-round stoppage ended the American’s unbeaten run.

Anderson returned in February 2025 and beat Marios Kollias over ten rounds in New York. A proposed May 2026 fight with Solomon Dacres did not take place after Anderson withdrew. No new bout has been confirmed.
