DERBY, England, UK – The stage is officially set for one of the most meaningful domestic heavyweight contests in recent memory. On Saturday, October 25, Olympic medalist Frazer Clarke (9-1-1, 7 KOs) will collide with London’s Jeamie “TKV” Tshikeva(8-2, 5 KOs) for the vacant British heavyweight title at the Vaillant Live Arena in Derby. The card will mark the first event of BOXXER’s new broadcast partnership with the BBC, with the undercard available live on BBC iPlayer and the main event airing nationwide on BBC Two.

Frazer Clarke and Jeamie “TKV” Tshikeva square off Oct 25 in Derby for the vacant British heavyweight title, part of BOXXER’s BBC debut.

Clarke’s chance to claim the Lonsdale Belt

For Frazer Clarke, the bout is both an opportunity for redemption and a milestone he has long sought. The 33-year-old Burton native was a standout amateur, winning Commonwealth Games gold in 2018 and Olympic bronze in Tokyo 2020. Since turning professional, Clarke has been fast-tracked into meaningful contests, including his two-fight series with Fabio Wardley earlier this year.

In March, Clarke and Wardley fought to a brutal 12-round draw for the British and Commonwealth crowns, a fight hailed as one of the best of the year. Their October rematch in Riyadh ended in disappointment for Clarke, who was stopped in the first round. Yet he rebounded in emphatic fashion last April, demolishing Ghana’s Ebenezer Tetteh inside a round to prove his confidence and punch power were intact.

“Becoming British champion is part of the dream,” Clarke said in a BOXXER statement. “I’ve learned from my setbacks, and I’m determined to bring that Lonsdale Belt home.”

TKV aims to seize his moment

Across the ring, Jeamie Tshikeva, better known as TKV, will see October 25 as the biggest night of his career. The 6’4″ Tottenham heavyweight has carved out a reputation as an explosive and athletic contender, with victories over Franklin Ignatius and Michael Webster building his case for a title shot.

Earlier this year, TKV challenged David Adeleye for the same vacant British championship, only for the contest to end in controversy. A disputed stoppage in the sixth round led to widespread debate, with the British Boxing Board of Control eventually ordering a rematch review. That ruling opened the door for Tshikeva to return to the frame, this time against Clarke.

“This is my chance to set the record straight,” TKV said. “People saw what happened last time. On October 25, I’m going to show that I belong at the top of British boxing and that I’m ready to be champion.”

Styles, stakes, and spotlight

The match-up pits Clarke’s disciplined jab, size, and inside strength against TKV’s faster footwork, counter-punching, and rhythm changes. Clarke, at 6’6″, is expected to impose his physicality, while TKV’s best chance lies in staying mobile and landing sharp counters before clinches develop.

Beyond the tactical questions, the fight carries historic weight. The Lonsdale Belt remains one of the most prestigious prizes in British boxing, and winning it often serves as a springboard to European or even world title opportunities. For Clarke, victory would re-establish him as a headline name on the domestic scene. For TKV, it would represent both vindication and a breakthrough onto a larger stage.

The bout also arrives with the added significance of ushering in the new BBC–BOXXER partnership, bringing top-flight boxing back to primetime terrestrial television in the UK. With a national audience and a storied belt on the line, both men will be under the brightest spotlight of their careers.
