Newark, NJ - On Saturday, June 21st, two undefeated Polish heavyweights will step into the ring at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, in a ten-round co-main event that blends national intrigue with a measuring-stick moment for a rising prospect. Damian Knyba 15-0 (9 KOs) will face Marcin Siwy 25-0-1 (12 KOs) in what looks on paper like a clash of equals — but in reality may be a showcase for one and a crossroads for the other.
Both men are unbeaten, both represent Poland, and both want to move forward. But only one will leave with their record intact.
At 6′7″ with an 86-inch reach, Damian Knyba is built for the outside game — tall, rangy, and patient. Fighting out of New Jersey and promoted by Top Rank, he’s been brought along with care, picking up wins over veterans like Curtis Harper, Richard Lartey, and Andrzej Wawrzyk.
Knyba uses his height well, sticks behind a firm jab, and doesn’t rush his work. His KO rate is respectable, but what sets him apart is his control and composure. This fight represents another calculated step forward, and fighting a fellow Pole with an undefeated record adds intrigue — even if the odds are heavily for Knyba.
Marcin Siwy has put together an eye-catching 25-0-1 record but has rarely tested himself outside of the domestic Polish scene. His lone blemish — a 2022 draw against tough journeyman Kamil Sokolowski — slowed his momentum and raised questions about his ceiling.
Siwy is a stocky, straightforward heavyweight with decent pop but limited range and footwork. He hasn’t been especially active in the last two years, and this fight may represent a final shot at relevance. That said, he's durable, and his experience could make him awkward if Knyba underestimates him.
This is a ten-round fight, and stylistically, Knyba has the advantages. If he keeps it long and sharp, he should be able to break Siwy down over time. Siwy will likely try to apply pressure early and test Knyba’s conditioning and composure under volume, but doing so without getting countered will be a challenge.
Both fighters will have crowd support, with Newark’s Polish community expected to show up in numbers — but most of the pressure will be on Knyba to perform.
Knyba is a level above in terms of size, skill, and upside. Unless he walks into something big, this should be his fight. Siwy might make it awkward early, but over ten rounds, Knyba's class should shine through.
Official Pick: Damian Knyba TKO 7
