Derek Chisora, the veteran heavyweight boxer, has indicated that retirement is on the horizon for him. Concerns about his long-term health have grown in recent years, and his most recent bout against Gerald Washington left many wondering about his future in the sport.

In a recent interview with NoSmokeSport, Chisora stated that he plans to have three more fights and then call time on his roller coaster career. He said, "I'm going to have one fight before the end of the year, then another two fights, and then I'm done."

Some observers believe that Chisora should have retired after his trilogy contest with Tyson Fury in December of the previous year. In that fight, Chisora struggled and was on the receiving end of a beating for ten rounds. However, he was reportedly well-paid for the bout, which took place on pay-per-view and sold 60,000 tickets at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Despite the beating he took in that fight, it was evident that Chisora wasn't ready to hang up his gloves just yet. He fought on Anthony Joshua's undercard on August 12th, which raised eyebrows in the boxing world.

While his victory over Gerald Washington on that night wasn't as punishing as some of his previous fights, it was clear to many that Chisora is past his prime and nearing the end of his boxing career.
