Mahmoud Charr Claims Injury. Kubrat Pulev Bout Cancelled

Mahmoud Charr claims to have suffered a left bicep injury thus cancelling his WBA regular heavyweight title defence against Kubrat Pulev next Saturday in Bulgaria.

Sofia, Bulgaria (March 21, 2024) - Mahmoud Charr (34-4, 20 KO) claims to have suffered a left biceps injury during preparations for the fight for the WBA regular heavyweight title against Kubrat Pulev (30-3, 14 KO).

Mahmoud Charr claims to have suffered an injury, cancelling his bout against Kubrat Pulev.

The bout scheduled for March 30 will take place at a later date. The new date for the event in Sofia has not yet been confirmed.

In September of last year, the WBA reached a settlement with Charr, who had entered into legal proceedings with the organization, and reinstated him as the regular heavyweight champion. Jarrell Miller was designated to fight Charr, but he chose to face Daniel Dubois instead.

Pulev returned to the ring in December after a break of over a year, winning a points victory over Andrzej Wawrzyk. Charr last fought in December 2022.

It has been reported that Pulev will face late replacement Ihor Shevadzutskyi.
