Joshua defeated legend Wladimir Klitschko in an unforgettable battle in front of 90,000 at England’s national stadium in April 2017 and went on to sell-out the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales twice. Firstly against Carlos Takam in October 2017 before unifying the division by taking Joseph Parker’s WBO belt in March 2018.
After defending his World Titles against Alexander Povetkin at Wembley Stadium in September 2018, he lost his unbeaten record to Andy Ruiz Jr on his American debut at Madison Square Garden before avenging that loss in Saudi Arabia in December 2019.
The 33-year-old followed that up with a KO victory over mandatory challenger Kubrat Pulev at Wembley Arena 12 months later before testing himself on two occasions against pound-for-pound warrior Oleksandr Usyk. AJ lost the first fight at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium in September 2021 and was out-pointed again in the rematch out in Saudi Arabia.
Joshua defeated Jermaine Franklin by a wide margin in April of 2023 and is expected back out in the early summer as he plots to become a three-time World Heavyweight Champion.
