Dominic “Trouble” Breazeale moved from college football at the University of Northern Colorado to boxing, representing the United States at the 2012 Olympics before turning professional that year.

He won his first 17 bouts, including a comeback stoppage of Amir Mansour after being knocked down. Anthony Joshua gave him his first defeat with a seventh-round stoppage in their June 2016 IBF title fight.

Ugonoh and a second title challenge

Breazeale rallied through a wild exchange of knockdowns to stop Izu Ugonoh in the fifth round in February 2017. Wins over Eric Molina and Carlos Negron brought another world-title opportunity.

Deontay Wilder knocked him out in the first round of their WBC title fight at Barclays Center on May 18, 2019.

The Wallin defeat

Otto Wallin beat him by unanimous decision over twelve rounds in Connecticut on February 20, 2021. Breazeale rallied late, but Wallin’s movement, southpaw jab and early lead carried the verdict.

Breazeale has been inactive since that fight. His record is 20–3 (18 KOs), with no return announced.
