Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (October 25, 2023) - Simon Kean intends to show that he belongs with the top heavyweight elite, and he couldn't hope for a better opportunity than facing Joseph Parker next Saturday in Saudi Arabia.

Simon Kean knows that a win over former WBO Heavyweight Titlist Joseph Parker would change his career.

Simon Kean 23-1-0 (22 KOs), the hard-hitting Quebecer, looks to seize his chance to make an international breakthrough in his fight against former WBO heavyweight world titlist, New Zealander Joseph Parker 32-3 (22 KOs), this Saturday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Kean, who represented Canada at the 2012 London Olympics, has had to be patient during his professional journey, but he never thought he would get such a significant opportunity to make a name for himself on the international stage:

"I'm eager to create shockwaves worldwide," Kean declared via The Ring. "I know I'm a top-level fighter, it's time for me to show it and see my name at the top of heavyweight boxing."

The 34-year-old fighter acknowledges the prestige of being on the undercard of a top heavyweight boxing card.

"Even though it's prestigious, I'm focusing on my own fight," he said. "My goal is to beat Parker, and that's all that matters!"

This will be Kean's second fight with his coach, Jessy Ross Thompson. In their debut together, Kean stopped heavyweight veteran Eric Molina 29-9 (21 KOs) in the 7th round.

Kean's longtime promoter, Camille Estephan of Eye of The Tiger, considers this a significant challenge for his fighter but believes the timing is right for Kean to measure himself against the division's elite top heavyweight boxers.

"Simon Kean really understands the magnitude of the challenge he faces; Parker, a former world champion and an accomplished professional," Estephan stated. "Simon knows very well what this opportunity means, and he doesn't want to miss it."

"I think Simon is underrated in his skills, and we all know that his nuclear power can change the game. So, it will be a great fight, I have no doubt."

Parker is the favorite with odds of -800 (1/8). Kean is well aware that Parker is a skilled fighter and what a victory would mean for his own career.
