Daniel “Dynamite” Dubois turned professional in 2017 and quickly became one of Britain’s most promising heavyweights. His heavy jab and direct combinations brought early knockouts, including a 2019 victory over Nathan Gorman for the British title.
His first major setback came against Joe Joyce in 2020. Joyce’s jab wore him down before a tenth-round finish. Dubois rebuilt, stopped Trevor Bryan for the WBA Regular belt in 2022 and survived three first-round knockdowns to beat Kevin Lerena that December.
After losing to Oleksandr Usyk in 2023, Dubois stopped Jarrell Miller and Filip Hrgović. The Hrgović victory won the IBF interim title, and he was subsequently elevated to full champion.
He delivered his biggest performance at Wembley in September 2024, knocking out Anthony Joshua in the fifth round. Usyk ended that reign with a fifth-round knockout in their July 2025 rematch.
Dubois returned to championship status by stopping Fabio Wardley in round eleven at Manchester’s Co-op Live in May 2026. Knocked down in the first and third rounds, he fought his way back to win the WBO title.
Dubois is 23–3 (22 KOs). He and Wardley are scheduled to meet again at The O2 in London on October 17, 2026, live on DAZN.
