Filip Hrgović 21–1 (16 KOs) brought an accomplished amateur background into professional boxing. The Zagreb heavyweight won world youth gold, the European championship and a bronze medal at Rio 2016 before turning professional in 2017.
His size, straight right hand and sustained combinations helped him advance through opponents including Amir Mansour, Eric Molina and Rydell Booker.
Hrgović’s hard-fought decision over Zhilei Zhang in August 2022 won an IBF final eliminator. He survived an early knockdown, although the verdict remained disputed. Stoppage wins over Demsey McKean and Mark de Mori followed.
Daniel Dubois ended his unbeaten run in June 2024, stopping him in the eighth round of their IBF interim-title fight. Hrgović recovered with decision victories over Joe Joyce and David Adeleye, then stopped Dave Allen in three rounds in May 2026.
The rebuilding run culminated at The O2 on August 29, 2026, when Hrgović stopped Moses Itauma in the ninth round to win the IBF heavyweight championship.
