Joe “The Juggernaut” Joyce brought Commonwealth gold, European Games gold and an Olympic silver medal into the professional heavyweight division. His persistent jab, pressure and high work rate soon carried him into demanding fights.

Dubois and Parker

Joyce stopped Daniel Dubois in the tenth round in November 2020, winning the British, Commonwealth and European titles. Stoppages of Carlos Takam and Christian Hammer followed.

His September 2022 knockout of Joseph Parker in Manchester earned the WBO interim heavyweight title and marked the high point of his contender run.

Zhang and the later defeats

Zhilei Zhang ended Joyce’s unbeaten record in April 2023 and stopped him again in their September rematch. Joyce returned with a stoppage of Kash Ali, but lost decisions to Derek Chisora in July 2024 and Filip Hrgović in April 2025. Read the Hrgović fight report.
