Bakhodir Jalolov to Face Solomon Dacres on Dubois-Wardley II Undercard

London, England, UK - Bakhodir Jalolov will face Solomon Dacres on October 17 at the O2 Arena in London.

The bout will serve as the chief support for the WBO title rematch between champion Daniel Dubois and former titleholder Fabio Wardley.

Jalolov Takes His Next Professional Step

Jalolov 17-0 (15 KOs) is a two-time Olympic gold medallist and one of the most decorated amateur boxers of his generation. The 6-foot-7 southpaw won Olympic gold for Uzbekistan at Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024, in addition to capturing two World Amateur Championship titles.

Despite that exceptional pedigree, Jalolov has yet to make a comparable impact during his eight years as a professional. The 32-year-old remains unbeaten but has faced limited opposition while dividing his time between the professional and amateur ranks.

Jalolov most recently appeared on the first Dubois-Wardley card in Manchester on May 9, when Agron Smakici retired following the seventh round. Before that, he recorded consecutive decision victories over Ihor Shevadzutskyi and Vitaly Kudukhov.

Dacres Returns After Career-Best Victory

Dacres 10-1 (3 KOs) represents the most established opponent of Jalolov’s professional career, although that distinction also underlines the modest level of opposition the Uzbek has faced to this point.

A former English champion and experienced Team GB amateur, Dacres rebounded from his first professional defeat by producing the best victory of his career against Vladyslav Sirenko in July 2025. Dacres outpointed the previously unbeaten Ukrainian over ten rounds on the Oleksandr Usyk-Daniel Dubois II undercard at Wembley Stadium.

The victory was particularly impressive because Dacres suffered a serious biceps injury during the second round but completed the contest and earned a unanimous decision. The injury later required surgery and contributed to his extended absence from the ring.

Dacres had previously lost his English title when David Adeleye stopped him in the opening round of their December 2024 encounter.

An Overdue Test for Jalolov

Standing approximately 6-foot-5, Dacres possesses the size and amateur background to provide Jalolov with a more meaningful professional examination. Although he is not regarded as a major puncher, the 32-year-old is technically capable and demonstrated composure and durability during his victory over Sirenko.

For Jalolov, the contest offers an overdue opportunity to begin translating his extraordinary amateur credentials into professional momentum. A convincing victory could move him toward more significant assignments in a division increasingly populated by emerging contenders.

Dacres, meanwhile, has the opportunity to derail one of the division’s most highly decorated prospects and establish himself beyond the British domestic level.
